In this seascape, the wild sea roars and crashes powerfully against rugged rocks standing resolutely on the shoreline. Frothy whitecaps explode upon impact sending wild sprays of water and sea foam into the air in a chaotic dance. Above, a lacy sky of soft clouds drifts lazily by, casting fleeting shadows onto the tumultuous waves below. This combination of the dramatic ocean, steadfast rocks and the delicate clouds create a harmonious seascape embodying the raw, untamed beauty of nature.

The surface of this painting is textured with splashes, rocks and ripples, which makes it very tactile. The edges of this piece are finished with the distinctive ‘shou sugi ban’ charred wood.
