Encaustic wax, shellac and hand dyed tissue paper on a mixed media wooden art board.

This encaustic wax painting features a vibrant explosion of colours, primarily greens and yellows, radiating from a central focal point that resembles a blossoming flower centre. The use of wax gives the piece a rich texture and depth, enhancing the fluidity of the colours against a deep green and blue background. The underlayer of this painting is tissue which has been hand dyed using a traditional Japanese Shibori style of dying to create an abstract floral image. The flower centre is textured, round which organic trails of burnt white, blue and gold shellac, add to the interest in this unique painting.

The shou sugi ban technique applied to the edges adds a dramatic contrast with its charred, darkened appearance, framing the lively centre and providing a striking boundary that enhances the overall composition.

The combination of the textured wax, organic shellac and the luminous layered background in Embers of Life create a captivating and dynamic piece of art, perfect for your home or as a unique and lasting gift for that special person.

Note:

This piece is unframed with no suspension on the reverse, so that you can mount it to suit your room décor.
