Encaustic wax, hand dyed tissue paper and shellac on a mixed media wooden art board.
Into the Garden is a dramatic waxy painting showing a selection of vibrant flowers set against a textured and layered green background. The under-layer of this painting is tissue which has been hand dyed using a traditional Japanese Shibori style of dyeing to create abstract floral images. This design has then been enhanced with the addition of coloured encaustic wax to create the garden scene. the pink flower is dominant with lacy petals over layers of colour. The burnt trails of shellac extend outwards over layers of pink, peach and yellow paint. The textured centre is shaded to give depth and dimension to this piece. Below the main flower sit spectacular white and gold circular flower heads next to a frothy blue and white flower at the bottom. Gentle gold highlights are included across the scene, for added detail.
The combination of the textured wax, the organic shellac and the luminous layered background in Into the Garden create a captivating and dynamic piece of art, perfect for your home.
The surface of this painting has some texture on the flower centres, which makes it tactile. The edges of this piece are finished with King Gold gilding wax.
Note: This piece is unframed with no suspension on the reverse, so that you can mount it to suit your room décor.
