Welcome!


Welcome to my very first Newsletter! I hope you enjoy learning about me and the type of art I create. Follow along for art news, art tips and techniques, information about new projects, product recommendations and more!

About Me

I mainly paint flowers, landscapes and seascapes, just from inspiration, not from photographs.


I love to learn new art techniques and I am constantly trying out different methods and materials in other mediums. This is how I came up with the idea for my latest project – writing my first craft book!


‘The Art of Hand-Dying Tissue Paper, techniques and projects’ is due to be published by Search Press in February 2026. Follow me for further updates.

My art

I paint using encaustic wax, alcohol inks and watercolour inks. It is the unpredictability of all these mediums that I enjoy the most. Encaustic painting involves melting wax and fusing it with a blowtorch, which is great fun! I love the beautiful sheen you can achieve on an encaustic painting.

I also create beautiful vibrant and unique hand-dyed tissue paper using a wide variety of techniques including Shibori folding, binding and wrapping, hand painting and wax resist. This is then incorporated this into my botanical paintings and seascapes, taking advantage of the texture and organic designs provided by the dyed tissue paper.

 

My forthcoming book will explain all about the exciting art of creating your own unique hand dyed tissue paper patterns. Once you start, I guarantee it will be hard to stop – it is very addictive!
