Here is an update on my art journey….

As we say goodbye to summer, the above image is one of my latest abstract meadow paintings - created using hand dyed tissue as the background layered with encaustic wax on top.

I really loved being Artist in Residence at Nature in Art during September - it was great to be able to demonstrate how I make my art to so many interesting visitors. See photos and video below.

Irish Art Retreat

I am very excited to be off to the west coast of Ireland later this month on an art retreat to further develop my encaustic wax art skills. I can't wait to learn some more new techniques to use! Once I return I plan to create lots more wild waxy seascapes! Read more in the next Newsletter!

In the Studio -  New products

I have been busy developing another new style of art using air dry clay and encaustic wax to create three-dimensional floral pieces. They will be initially for sale at my craft fairs and when I develop larger pieces these will be for sale via my website. See poppies photograph below.

Autumn Gift and Craft Fair - Nature in Art - October 31st / November 1st

I will have a stall at the very popular Nature in Art Craft Fair in October where I will be selling my art on a wide range of products including tea lights, candle holders, bags, coasters, mugs, and key rings, as well as lots of original art, including encaustic! I'm also bringing some original Christmas cards, decorated jars and hand painted Christmas baubles! Perfect for buying unusual and original Christmas gifts and decorations. The gift of art is a really lovely gift to give. Come and do some Christmas shopping! There will be more than 45 stalls!

If you live locally, please come and visit me there! It is a fantastic place for a day out with its Museum and Art Gallery, Sculpture Garden and a really great Coffee Shop. They also run many art courses for adults and children. Well worth a visit! See  https://natureinart.org.uk/

Whispers of Nature Solo Exhibition - Gardens Gallery, Cheltenham 15th-19th December 2026

Another first for me - I will be hosting my first ever solo exhibition featuring my  encaustic wax art, alcohol ink paintings and other artwork. Original paintings and other items featuring my art will be available to purchase.  Add the date to your diary! I hope you are able to come and say hello! Just before Christmas so great for giving the gift of art.

LandScape Magazine article

In August I was lucky enough to be interviewed by a journalist for Landscape magazine to talk about my encaustic art and hand dyed tissue art. A photographer also visited and took lots of photos of my processes as well as final pieces. I am excited to see how the article develops. It is due for publication early Summer 2027! Watch this space for updates!
